About Kurt's powers?

I was just thinking to myself about Nightcrawler's powers. In particular his shadow fading powers. How does he make his clothes blend into the shadows? Surely for this power to be totaly effective he would have to be naked!!! No, instaed he goes around in a bright red top with white gloves.

Anybody got a rational explanation how he does it?

I wrote something on this issue a while back ( http://members.nbci.com/elwing_blue/nightpowers.html ) not much is known about this, but apparently the entrance of the teleportation wormhole is always open and distorts the light somehow. see Ecalibur #63/63 on this...
